What are your current favourite fabrics from our range?
What are your current favourite fabrics from our range?
Some of our current James Dunlop favourites include Bauhaus and Beauvoir. Bauhaus makes a bold statement and leans into mid-century modern design, effortlessly combining form and function. The relaxed, earthy colour palette of the design makes the fabric highly adaptable and versatile for various settings.
While Bauhaus commands attention, the elegance and timelessness of Beauvoir make it a staple in our selection. We also love the use of recycled polyester in its composition, which promotes sustainability. Yet the fabric remains soft and linen-like in its handle.
Which styles are on trend in Australian window furnishings?
Which styles are on trend in Australian window furnishings?
Australian window furnishings are witnessing a shift from the minimalist combinations of blockout roller blinds and sheer curtains, with a growing trend towards embracing a classic and warm aesthetic in interior design. Homeowners and designers alike are rediscovering the charm of double curtains, decorative rods, and roman blinds, which are infusing spaces with a sense of texture and individuality.
Double curtains, with their layered look, offer both practicality and elegance, allowing for greater control over light and privacy while adding depth to window treatments. Decorative rods, available in various finishes and designs, serve as stylish accents that enhance the overall decor. Roman blinds, known for their timeless appeal, contribute a sophisticated touch that can be tailored to fit any room's style.

How do Marlow & Finch interpret the macrotrend of Creative Confidence?
We interpret creative confidence as being able to generate original solutions and ideas with both passion and certainty. It enables people to adopt experimentation and out-of-the-box ideas with conviction and goes hand in hand with innovation and growth.
Creatives across multiple industries, including ours, are stepping away from jumping on generic trends for the sake of doing so, and are developing genuine confidence to showcase their own flare, creativity, and style.

Is there a recent project that you can tell us about?
Recently, we had the pleasure of collaborating with a designer client on a stunning project just outside of Sydney. For this venture, we chose James Dunlop Homespun in the colour Whitewash. This fabric was instrumental in achieving a dreamy finish for the home. The casual warmth of the open weave fabric brought a cozy, inviting atmosphere to the space, perfectly complementing the modern aesthetic of the design.
To enhance the contemporary yet relaxed feel of the open plan kitchen and dining area, we paired the Homespun fabric with a sleek matte black curtain rod. This combination not only highlighted the natural texture of the fabric but also added a touch of sophistication and contrast. The result was a beautifully balanced space that seamlessly blends comfort with modern elegance, showcasing how thoughtfully chosen materials can elevate a home's overall ambiance.
