James Dunlop | Top 10 wide-width draperies

Discover our Design Director's favourite wide-width draperies

Historically, drapery textiles have been limited by the looms they are woven on. Initially woven on two bed linen looms at 280cm wide, before evolving to maintain an industry standard of 310cm-320cm wide, and most recently achieving the capacity to weave extra-wide 350cm cloth. This advancement reduces the need to join seams by creating ‘continuous drapery’, which takes nothing away from the ambiance of a space and the vistas beyond.

We are deeply connected to our landscapes in Australia and New Zealand; we love relaxed luxury, and our lifestyle and interior design sensibility favours expansive windows, high studded ceilings, and open plan living. Therefore, our design studio prioritizes transitional textiles which focus on tactility and dimension to complement the view, in a sophisticated yet casual reflection of how we live in this part of the world.

We’ve asked Annie Moir, James Dunlop Design Director, to introduce us to her top ten wide-width draperies – in no particular order.
