Paris Deco Off 2026
K+J Agency:
Across the week, we took to the streets of Paris to view window displays, installations, and showrooms that make Paris feel like a living mood board.
From these encounters, clear themes began to surface across brands: florals that anticipate the return of spring, broader tributes to nature (from botanical to elemental), and energetic explorations of geometry and stripes. Signatures of the moment – including a renewed emphasis on craftsmanship, where texture, technique, and the trace of the hand become the point of view – were just as present.
Modern Stripes
Modern Stripes
Stripes are a materials-and-structure story that is less about novelty pattern and more about tailoring, discipline, and quality. At one end, suiting-inspired pinstripes in tones of cream and beige feel architectural and minimal, allowing weave and texture do the talking. At the other, cabana-scale stripes featuring bold colour blocks are resort-ready – crisp and ordered, but more playful. Today, stripes are like an interior’s uniform: a dependable design code for precision and longevity.
Slow Crafted Luxury
Slow Crafted Luxury
Craft is moving to the foreground as the human hand becomes the aesthetic. We see weaving in progress, visible stitching, and textiles that intentionally reveal their construction. Natural fibres and tactile surfaces are paired with artisanal patterning, embroidered botanicals, subtle irregularities, and perfectly imperfect marks that read as made, not manufactured. Texture, technique, and provenance are the design story, signalling a clear embrace of slow luxury.
Graphic Geometry
Graphic Geometry
Geometric patterns are bold, graphic, and high contrast rather than decorative motifs. Modernist structures (graphic blocks, clean shapes, maze-like linework) evoke a warmer emotional temperature in a spiced spectrum of ochre, rust, terracotta, and red, alongside classic ink-and-ivory neutrals. Appearing in tactile weaves, upholstered surfaces, and dimensional wallcoverings, these patterns bring rhythm and energy while still feeling precise and intentional.
Elemental Botanics
Elemental Botanics
Nature is the dominant visual language across window displays. Immersive, crafted interpretations include embroidered leaves and vines, panoramic murals, and over-scaled foliage and bird motifs. Beyond elements of flora and fauna, nature is depicted in patterns mimicking shimmering seafoam, lustrous mother-of-pearl, geode banding, and volcanic striations which are at once transportive, layered, and tactile.
