Tait Edit | Outdoor palettes for the Southern Hemisphere summer
We are in the midst of summer here in Australasia and our good friends at Tait have a history of compiling a seriously inspiring palette of finishes and colours that set the tone for the season.
Drawing from the vivid shades to be found in the wild of Australia’s diverse and unique climates and landscapes, each palette references a familiar place or region, weathered and raw, coloured by nature.
We asked if they would edit our robust outdoor offering to respond to the palettes of the season and here is what they have selected:
Patonga
Patonga
Here we feel a tranquil ocean breeze at Patonga on the mid New South Wales Coast, a soft palette of layered neutrals reference driftwood and native grasses found along the ocean edge. A soft, linen toned selection with gentle, rhythmic pattern to underpin the serene feel.
Products include Reef Citrine, Esplanade Linen and Madura Shell, which pair beautifully with Tait’s Paperbark textured powder coat and white marbled porcelain.
Kaba Kada
Kaba Kada
Lush and tropical, Kaba Kada is the indigenous name for the lush tropical rainforest of far North Queensland’s Daintree. Here we are immersed in the vibrant, densely rich biodiversity of Australia’s tropical climate. Biophilic design sees differing shades of natural greens underpinned with robust greys and inviting textures, shaded forest tones are glistening and cool within the humidity and languor of a summer holiday.
Products include hero design Tropicalia Midnight, South Beach Palm Kelp and Esplanade Palm Leaf, coordinating back with Tait’s Smoked Oak timber and Banksia Leaf textured powder coat.
Colomatta
Colomatta
Dreamy tones with smoky blue hues are found in this mix, as the other name for Colomatta is the Blue Mountains, the vast mountain range covered in rich native bush pulls in tones from Eucalyptus forest and blue gum leaves found in New South Wales. The hazy, mysterious feeling evoked by the unique weather and light to be found here pairs inky shades with warm greys and tactile, undulating surfaces.
Products include South Beach Sky, Madura Pacific and Reef Birch balanced with Tait’s Silver Grey compact laminate and weathered smoked oak timber.
Karijini
Karijini
The ancient, stunning, and vast Karijini National Park of Western Australia provides the desert shades here, a warmth that brings comforting, characteristically Australian earth tones in to your space. The iconic terrain of the palette’s namesake is rugged, baked earth and terracotta hued rock softened in part by native flora like paperbark. Warm, dry colour is layered in rich brown, deep red and burgundy with ochre, comforting shades bringing cosy, relaxed and hot, slow summer days to your outdoor space.
Products include Ostuni Sienna, South Beach Marsala and Tropicalia Sepia atop textured burgundy clay powder coat spotted gum timber.
