Fabrics for healthcare & hospitality
The standards for textiles used in healthcare and hospitality spaces are purposefully strict, ensuring the safety of those within these environments. High volumes of people, personal and organisational hygiene, food preparation, and fire safety are just some of the considerations to be made when specifying fabrics for these industries.
Let us introduce you to the fantastic attributes offered by our high-performance healthcare and hospitality focussed FibreGuard fabrics.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE FIBREGUARD TEXTILES
HIGH-PERFORMANCE FIBREGUARD TEXTILES
- Easy to clean – inherent stain protection ensures spills and stains are easily cleaned with water, soap, and a microfibre cloth
- Washable – all FibreGuard fabrics are machine washable, some up to 74 degrees Celsius to meet healthcare regulations
- Anti-Microbial – finishing techniques ensure mildew and bacteria can’t attach to the yarn or foam
- Odour Control – efficient stain removal and moisture control means odours are kept at bay
- Moisture Barrier – liquids wick on the fabric surface, ensuring they are easy to wipe off and stains can’t seep through
- Durable – tested and approved for commercial application even in the heaviest traffic areas
Peninsula Hotel
Peninsula Hotel
The dining area of Adelaide’s Peninsula Hotel was recently redesigned by Surround Interiors. Seeking to elevate the atmosphere whilst catering to the practical needs of a high-traffic restaurant, Mingle Mangle by Zepel FibreGuard was specified to upholster the banquette seating.
“Knowing that when spills and mishaps occur, (which they will), that the fabric can be cleaned and restored is a huge relief, not only for our clients but for us as designers. It allows us to provide a service to our clients beyond the finishing line of a project, knowing that we have put strategies in place to extend the life of the fabric design,” says Fleur of Surround Interiors.

FIBREGUARD PRO
FIBREGUARD PRO
Building on FibreGuard’s stain free technology, FibreGuard Pro is resistant to moisture, mildew, and odours. Our unique anti-microbial solution is applied during production and finishing, ensuring FibreGuard Pro fabrics offer increased security from accidental spills.
Liquids and bacteria are unable to move through the fabric or attach themselves to the yarn, protecting the upholstery foam from moisture and making FibreGuard Pro the perfect choice for environments such as hospitals, aged care facilities, hotels and restaurants. Whilst many moisture barrier fabrics can be rigid and rough, the FibreGuard Pro anti-moisture membrane is both flexible and breathable.
Hardworking in every sense, FibreGuard Pro fabrics are fully washable and retain their technical properties and soft touch even after multiple washes.
Every fabric is Oeko-Tex certified to guarantee peace of mind that the fabric will not release any harmful finishes or chemicals and are well suited for both commercial and residential settings.
Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House supports families while their child is receiving hospital care away from home. Sojo Design recently refurbished the reception space, specifying Combo by Zepel FibreGuard Pro. Due to high foot traffic and the nature of a hospital-like environment, the textiles specified had to adhere to the requirements of a commercial healthcare grade project.
If you require a specialist high performance fabric for the healthcare or hospitality sector, you can rest assured we have the right product for you. Simply contact your Sales Representative or local showroom for more information.
